YOU'RE INVITED

Posted by Team PTWLA on

YOU ARE INVITED. As much as I would want to have all of you, friends, at our our table, to celebrate, dine, laugh, pray with, I’m just not sure that’s (logistically) possible. And I bet most of you have something planned for tomorrow and the day after, as well, already. This invite is not for that.

There is always something to do, always a deadline to catch, always something to cook, and clean and create and worry about.  But he  here’s a *revelation*: YOU’RE OKAY.  It’s okay if the dish is a little undercooked, or the lights weren’t all put up. Maybe you forgot to get that gift for Uncle, or the kids are a little rowdier than usual. It's okay. To some, this year is much different than the previous years. The family is smaller, the house a little quieter. Friend, we love you, and I’m inviting you to still CELEBRATE. This kind of invite is one that gives you “permission” to pause, ponder, and position your hearts to praise— with whatever circumstance you now have. Celebrate because you have a Savior and He is here. Celebrate because even if the year was really rough, it didn’t change the fact that your eternity is set because of Jesus!! And that’s really all that matters!🙌🏻

“Come, let us adore Him!” Whether you’re at home, at work, on the field, or on the road, I invite you find the space, time, mind and heart, to celebrate Jesus. Surrounded, or alone, I pray God envelopes you with His presence. I pray that ABOVE ALL THINGS, you will be reminded that because of Jesus, from now on you will NEVER be alone.💛

Thank you, God. We do not deserve this kind of love. We truly do not need anything else. We’ve got the greatest gift.✨🙏🏻

Our small team is excited to celebrate the next few days away from our desks and computers. From tomorrow until January 2nd, our office will be closed. So before the day ends, from our family to yours, a blessed Christmas, and a hope-filled new year. We love you!💛

GIVING TUESDAY

Posted by Team PTWLA on

Milcah’s daughter, Izzy, came home from school yesterday with some exciting news to her mom. “Mom, remember Jorge, Lolo’s (Grandpa’s) friend? He’s staying with his daughter now. He’s not homeless anymore!” My father in law (Izzy’s Grandpa) would bring Jorge breakfast and coffee almost every morning before he takes Izzy to school. She has met him only once but is always included in her nightly prayers. So you can imagine just how happy she was to give me the good news. Her prayers were answered!

Today is quite special for us here at Prone To Wander LA because we get to share with you about an organization that we believe is making a real impact in lives of our homeless families here in Los Angeles.
On this Giving Tuesday, we are giving 100% of today’s sales to @penandnapkinorg. They are a non-profit community of designers  that furnishes and decorates homes for families and individuals transitioning out of homelessness! When a family, or individual, transitions into an empty home they are more likely to return to homelessness, but with furniture, there is a 100% success rate of ending the homeless experience in their life!

This specifically inspires us because of how this community uses their talents in interior design (definitely right up my alley too!)- and pulling together resources to create impact right where they are. It shows us how we all can, too. When we recognize that the gifts we’ve been given, no matter how small or insignificant they may seem, are given to us to bless others.
Homelessness is currently LA’s biggest problem. It is everywhere. There are conflicting opinions on what should be done about it. It can get us overwhelmed or paralyzed that we end up doing nothing. WANT TO GIVE! Here are a couple of ways. ☝🏻ONE: Check out their website to learn more!  ✌🏻TWO: When you purchase anything from the shop today, the ENTIRE  AMOUNT will be donated directly to Pen+Napkin and help end homelessness for a family today! Happy Tuesday!💛

SMALL SHOP, BIG DREAM!

Posted by Team PTWLA on

Very few of you know WHO Prone to Wander LA is, and that is because we rarely post anything with us! But today is a good day, and we’re here to say, "Hello!"👋🏻 We are Yna and Milcah, friends and sisters-in-law, and we are incredibly thankful to each one of you.
We started PTW LA in 2015 thinking that it would be nice to have some Truth reminders in things we carry around everyday.. like a phone case. And now, 4 years later, we’ve created and curated things like home decors and jewelries!

What you guys probably don’t know is that our little team remains to be a family business, and that most of the magic happen behind this door. Yes, THIS garage door. From brainstorming, to creating, and even to producing most products.

Your support means more than just food on our tables. You’re not investing in big machines or in a fancy, big office building. We want you to know that you’re supporting a calling: in ministry, motherhood, allowing us to do what we love, every single day. And because of that, our hearts overflow with gratitude. Our little team, little family won’t be here if it weren’t for you.

So from the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU for shopping small, for supporting our big dream!!😊💛
